Department of Aerospace Studies (Air Force ROTC)
Kennedy Building room 133
The Air Force Reserve
Officer Training Corps (ROTC)
is a program that gives
undergraduate or
graduate students the opportunity to become commissioned officers in the
United States Air Force, while simultaneously pursuing their degree from
UNC-Charlotte,
or
one of the other Charlotte
area cross-town colleges/universities.
Our
mission
is to recruit and retain young men and women and instill in them
leadership ability,
professionalism,
and inspire them to exemplify the
characteristics of the highest quality Air Force officer.
The Air Force Reserve
Officer Training Corps,
through training and
course work,
opens the door for
entry into
the finest air force in the world.
UNC-Charlotte is
the host institution for the following cross-town schools.
You don't need a
scholarship
to be a part of the
Air Force ROTC program at Detachment 592. Also, you don't
necessarily
have to be a student at UNCC;
numerous cadets attend cross-town
universities such as Winthrop, JCSU,
and CPCC. Click on one of the school links listed on the page "Cross-town
Schools" for information
about the cross-town arrangements at Detachment 592. Many
cadets, from
various local universities, come to
Detachment 592 with one goal in mind:
a
commission into the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant.
The 592nd
Cadet Wing welcomes anyone interested in pursuing an Air Force career.
If
you are interested in
joining our detachment, contact the detachment at
704-687-4537 or via email at det592@uncc.edu.
