31st Annual 49er Classic Drill Competition

Update as of 12 March 2020:

When: TBD

The UNC Charlotte 49er Classic Drill Competition scheduled for 21 March 2020 has been canceled.

The University of North Carolina system has received direction to minimize social contact. As part of this mitigation plan, all departments are switching to online classes as much as possible due to COVID-19. As an additional mitigation consideration, gatherings of 50 people have been prohibited on campus. Due to this temporary restriction, unfortunately, we have to cancel the 31st Annual 49er Classic Drill Competition.

What is the 49er classic?

Every year, Air Force ROTC Detachment 592 at UNC Charlotte, holds a Drill Competition for Junior ROTC units across North Carolina and the surrounding states. This event challenges JROTC cadets' military prowess, grit and professionalism. At this event, JROTC Cadets are welcome to compete against other JROTC units, chat with current Air Force ROTC cadets, browse the campus, and explore their options after high school.

Detachment 592 encourages you to come out and display your skills.

If you are planning to attend, read through the information as it updates.  This page will be updated with the most current information available.
